About the Spencer Flight & Education Center

An exciting and innovative resource for any aviation lover, the Spencer Flight and Education Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to actively promoting the safety and success of all western Kansas pilots and passengers.

Built in 2012, the center provides a local venue for high-quality flight instruction, in addition to various educational programs and resources for individuals of any age. Perhaps the most exciting feature of the Spencer Flight and Education Center is the Redbird FMX flight simulator.

Considered to be one of the top flight-training tools available, the Redbird simulator takes users on a realistic, true-to-life trip into the skies to train for any situation or flight conditions desired. Pricing for simulator use is available on a per-hour basis, with discounts applied to the purchase of multiple hours.

The Spencer Flight and Education Center goes beyond the Redbird flight simulator. Equally important at the center are the aviation-related courses and programs for both youth and adults— pilots and non-pilots. Programming includes formal ground school classes, aviation and science-based day camps for youth, pinch-hitter classes for non-pilot passengers and various other educational programs throughout the year.

As an additional benefit to the community, the meeting they said the center is available for rent by outside groups.Pilots of western Kansas and the surrounding region have limited access to flight training resources, which makes staying current and obtaining additional ratings much harder than it should be. The primary goal of the flight center is to provide a simulator and a venue for training for western Kansas pilots to maintain their currency and stay safe while also promoting the love of aviation that's so important to our community.

As a 501C3 public charity, the Spencer Flight and Education Center is committed to promoting aviation-related safety activities and careers in the surrounding communities.

Its youth camps, flight training scholarships and other educational programs help provide opportunities to children and adults to pursue their passions for flying.

An annual membership program provides financial support for these community-based programs and is open to any individual or corporation interested in being a part of the Spencer Flight and Education Center’s mission.

A membership can be purchased online or by contacting the center. To learn more about the center, take a look around our website or give us a call. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions, help you arrange flight instruction or reserve your hours in the simulator. The future of aviation is bright, so look to the skies and join us at the Spencer Flight and Education Center!
